Clackity is built to need as little of your data as possible, both in the app and on this website.
In the app
Clackity uses macOS's Input Monitoring permission to detect that a key was pressed, never what you typed. It does not log, store, or transmit your keystrokes anywhere — the moment a sound plays, that keystroke is forgotten. Everything runs locally on your Mac. Your custom sound mappings and settings are stored only on your own machine, in your local Application Support folder — nothing is uploaded.
License activation
Activating a license key is checked entirely on your device — no network request is made, and no account is created. The key itself is tied to your Razorpay payment ID, not to any personal profile.
On this website
Purchases are processed by Razorpay; we don't see or store your card details. If you email us for a refund under the "Get it free" program, we use your email only to verify the purchase and process that refund, and don't add it to any mailing list.
